What Makes a Scene Classy?

I just posted about my Phoebe-Cates-in-Fast-Times-at-Ridgemont-High moment on Mmm…Sweat and it made me ask myself: What makes this one of the most classy scenes in all of film?

It’s hard not to empathize with the young man (an actor who would eventually play the Honorable Judge Reinhold in Clerks) fantasizing about someone he knew. Forget about the high school hormones. Forget about the fact that Phoebe Cates is stunning here. Forget about the exceptional direction in the film. The fantasy is one that we have all had: someone we know decides to reveal their desire for you.

The film’s moment touched us all before we touched ourselves.

I’m happy to be back. I’ve just come from a deep dive into a rabbit hole called, “Yoni Yoga.” I wasn’t sure that I would ever make it back out. I had no idea that this was a thing. I’m willing to try most everything so I’m shopping for an egg now. I just hope that my elderly neighbors don’t accidentally get my mail on the day that it comes in. That would be quite a conversation starter.

MrSkin - 50 Shades Freed

The BDSM that I’ve seen on porn sites is just not for me. It’s cool if it’s for you. However, the stuff that was done for the 50 Shades films is pretty smokin’ hot. And classy. The problem is that I can’t say that I liked the films themselves much and I tried to read book one and didn’t get very far. Just like how I would read the Cliff Note versions of some classics in high school English, I’m perfectly happy just watching the clips on Mr. Skin.

Mmm...Classy Favorite: SexArt.com

If I had to pick one site that I’ve come across that is the epitome of the kinds of films that I would make if I had a bazillion dollars, it’s SexArt.com. I’ve been a member for quite some time now and the quality of the productions remains excellent. The actors, both men and women, are 10’s by most everyone’s criteria. While the couples are probably not really together, they certainly act as if they are.

Few of the films have dialogue, presumably so that they appeal to a worldwide audience, but they do tell stories visually. In fact, many of the scenarios seem to be pulled directly out of my fantasy bank.

You’ll likely be seeing multiple posts about different films from SexArt.com since they know that there are plenty of people like me who still prefer their porn to be classy.

What better career can there be than helping women, men, couples, triads, and more realize just how beautiful they really are? All people have beauty in them, and these photographers are so skilled in being able to pinpoint those qualities.

Yes, I’m marking this as Safe for Work because this is a video of an artist on stage.

I tried to do a little reading about the history of burlesque and kept getting too distracted. I’ve gone to a few live shows so far and I found them far more interesting than the few times that I’ve gone to strip clubs. Part of the reason, I think, is the crowd. I know, I know that I should probably try more classy strip clubs, but those that I have gone to have been full of unhappy men with a great deal of anger just under the surface. Yes, I’m a mind reader. To each their own, I believe, but I don’t like feeling like I’m in danger whenever I get up to go the bathroom and I see lots of eyes following me as I walk. Ugh.

On the other hand, I’ve met some really nice folks at the burlesque shows where people tend to be laughing and entertained. The women on stage, some of whom have more body-positive confidence in their little finger than I do in my whole being, take the artform and history as seriously as a student in a magic school who has a destiny to duel Lord Voldemort himself.
